Yup, the great disruption is alive and well in Portland where unemployment is a whopping 12%. I am seeing some interesting opportunities to innovate — and use the social network space to trade and share resources in a way I have not thought of before.

Web 2.0 and staying up-to-date technologically is my disruption. This disruption also struck right around the time I was making a career change . . . which did not help at all. Taking advantage of SLA’s 23 Things last summer was the first step to adaptation. Continuous learning is the ongoing strategy.

Other than that (on an ec0nomic level), I’m just continuing to work and hoping for an economic turnaround.
